[CONCERT REVIEW] LIGHTS Illuminates The Nation’s Capital

Canadian electro pop singer LIGHTS brought her Siberia Tour to the Nation’s capital this past Monday to a packed 9:30 Club. Accompanying her on this tour was New York ambient rockers The Ambassadors. Fans lined up as early as one in the afternoon, as the last time Lights came to D.C. was almost three years ago with Owl City. Doors promptly opened at 7, with fans quickly filling up the venue and The Ambassadors hitting the stage at 8:15. Delivering an interesting dramatic set, The Ambassadors’ 40 minute set warmed up the crowd for Lights who would take the stage an hour later.

Lights performing on stage

At 9:30 on the dot. the stage lights dimmed and Lights along with her backing band dived into the new single “Banner”. Lights’ set consisted of hits old & new such as “My Boots”, “Ice”, & “Toes” to name a few. The interaction between Lights & the audience was incredible, with Lights even walking on the barricade a few times during a song. The night could best be described as a euphoric experience guaranteed to have you on your toes (pun intended) as soon as Lights hits the stage . Be sure to visit Lights’ official website to purchase “Siberia” & see if she comes to your town on tour!
