A brand new year means new aspirations, new resolutions, and new challenges. To others it means, new releases in whatever venue of entertainment of choice. As a music website, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t share what music we’re anticipating for the year 2013, so without further ado, here are our choices for “RichardThinks.Org’s Most Anticipated Albums of 2013“!

Of Mice & Men – Of Mice & Men‘s second album “The Flood” was a game-changer that has brought them great success since being released in 2011. “The Flood” produced many songs that have become live concert staples such as “Ohioisonfire“, “O.G. Loko“, & “Let Live” to name a few. Here’s hoping that Of Mice & Men will take time after their 2013 Winter headline tour to record a new album as they seem to have no plans so far after the tour. It will be interesting to see if they make current touring bassist/clean vocalist, Aaron Pauley, a permanent member, and if inducted, to see how he will be implemented in the Of Mice & Men camp studio wise.
Release Date : TBA 2013 – Rise Records

Paramore – I can’t be the only one who wants to see how Paramore‘s fourth album will sound like, right? Paramore have proved, in my opinion, that the departures of the Farro brothers have not hindered them at all with releasing “The Singles Club” in 2011. Having confirmed many international tour dates, and of course the self-titled album release date in April, it seems 2013 is for the taking for Paramore. Here’s to you Jeremy, Hayley, and Taylor, all eyes are on you right now!
Release Date : April 9, 2013 – Fueled By Ramen

Trivium – Having toured non-stop for the past year and a half with the likes of In Flames, Godsmack, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch & Asking Alexandria, Trivium have proven once again they are a force to be reckoned with. It’s amazing that with the heavy touring schedule they have had in 2012, they still manage to find time to write for their upcoming sixth studio album. I, for one, am glad that the world didn’t end as the Mayans predicted, as Trivium continue to evolve and push the envelope for the world of metal.
Release Date : TBA 2013 – Roadrunner Records

Killswitch Engage – The internet, or the world of metal, imploded on itself twice in the past year. The first time was when long-time vocalist, Howard Jones, announced his departure in the beginning of 2012. The second time the internet imploded was when Killswitch Engage announced Jesse Leach was to return to the band for the sixth studio album several months later. After a few successful tours such as “Trespass America” & the 10th anniversary tour for “Alive Or Just Breathing“, 2013 is perfectly poised to continue the onslaught for KSE with a new album in tow.
Release Date: April 2013 – Roadrunner Records

Tonight Alive – Our favorite Australian pop punk quintet has been creating buzz since their inception to the scene in 2008, with making their North American debut in Spring 2011. Having released several EP’s and their album “What Are You So Scared Of?“, touring relentlessly on high profile tours, Tonight Alive have built themselves quite a reputation in today’s music scene. Already hard at work on their second studio album, along with several tours booked with Black Veil Brides, The Story So Far, Man Overboard and their second Vans Warped Tour already announced, there are no signs of slowing down for Tonight Alive.
Release Date : TBA 2013 – Fearless Records

Skylar Grey – We have followed Skylar Grey (formerly Holly Brook) ever since she was featured on Fort Minor‘s popular hit “Where’d You Go?”. Since then we have seen her evolve to a confident singer able to stand her own ground in today’s pop music scene. Having earned herself several Grammy Nominations for her song writing and features on other artist’s songs, the world is anxiously awaiting for her debut album to drop. Unfortunately due to several conflicts, her album had been pushed back several times; now “Don’t Look Down” (previously titled “Invinsible“), is set to release this year with Eminem named as producer for the album.
Release Date: TBA 2013 – Interscope / KidinaKorner

Like Moths To Flames – The debut album from Like Moths To Flames “When We Don’t Exist” might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who do get it, it’s a great bouncy album when you just want something heavy to listen to. If the two new tracks that were featured on the re-release “Learn Your Place” & “Shapeshifter” are any indication of the band where they are now, it’s safe to say that this album will transcend their current audience.
Release Date: TBA 2013 – Rise Records

We Are The In Crowd – Our favorite pop punk quintet from New York has been creating buzz ever since releasing their debut EP “Guaranteed To Disagree“. When We Are The In Crowd released “Best Intentions”, the album brought them to higher rankings with touring with the likes of Mayday Parade, Every Avenue and Yellowcard. Now winding down from touring to promote “Best Intentions“, we are extremely stoked to see where the band goes in writing their second album and we’re certain it won’t be a sophomore slump if they pour the same dedication in previous releases to this upcoming release.
Release Date : TBA 2013 – Hopeless Records
Avenged Sevenfold – Making one of the most excellent comebacks in music history after the tragedy surrounding their previous drummer, Avenged Sevenfold surpassed all obstacles and released “Nightmare” in 2010. Reaching arena and festival headliner status, it seems Avenged Sevenfold cannot be stopped. Having trickled out stand-alone songs “Not Ready To Die” & “Carry On“, there seems to be no signs in slowing down for the Huntington Beach outfit. It will be interesting to see how this upcoming effort will sound like, especially if touring drummer, Arin IIejay will be integrated full-time for Avenged Sevenfold.
Release Date : TBA 2013 – Warner Bros. Records.

Fuck yes to Skylar Grey but you left out Decrepit Birth
