The Washington D.C. area rarely gets any shows of this genre and caliber anymore, so fans showed up in full force for “The Honeymoon Tour” featuring Mayday Parade, Tonight Alive, Major League, and PVRIS. Despite tornado warnings and very heavy rain, fans were lined up around the block for the early show where doors opened promptly at 5PM.
Despite a 15 minute period from doors opening to their set time, Pvris kicked the evening off with a bang. One of Rise Records’ most exciting signings in some time, the group performed a set which featured all new songs from their upcoming debut album, “White Noise”. Check out our interview with Pvris we conducted after their performance!

“The Honeymoon Tour” also brought out the Mantua, NJ quartet, Major League. The group is on the heels of releasing “There’s Nothing Wrong With Me” on November 4th and did a great job of continuing the momentum that Pvris started. Lead singer Brian Joyce also took the time to dedicate the set to his father who was in attendance to the show.

It’s always a treat whenever Tonight Alive comes to the area, especially since they hail all the way from Australia no less! Despite releasing their sophomore album, “The Other Side”, last year and being on the road for the majority of the year the songs still sounded fresh and the group still seemed energized. Hopefully the next time the group returns to the States, they’ll have new songs to play, but if they don’t we wouldn’t complain either way!

Finishing up the evening was Mayday Parade and the group had the entire floor and balcony packed like sardines in anticipation for the group’s scheduled 7:40 time-slot. After a successful tenure on Warped Tour this past summer, the crowd for Mayday Parade matched the same volume of an audience they had this entire summer. It speaks volumes that even after a year of releasing their fourth album, “Monsters In The Closet”, that fans are still packing out venues to see the Tallahassee, FL quintet.
