[…] Promptly at 10:30, Killswitch Engage took the stage with a disco ball and Wang Chu‘s, “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” blaring over the PA launching into “The New Awakening”. It was the band’s second performance in the state of Maryland since Jesse Leach returned to the band, and they delivered an excellent performance. From the beginning, the band genuinely seemed to enjoy themselves , and guitarist Adam D was prancing around stage while performing. From jumping two step to hitting birdies into the crowd, he stole the show and gave the crowd everything he could. That’s the great thing about a band like Killswitch Engage, who don’t take themselves too seriously and can deliver a memorable performance. Fans can be rest assured, Jesse Leach sang Howard Jones era songs admirably, as well as breathing new life into older cuts from “Alive Or Just Breathing” to delivering some of the new songs such as “In Due Time” and “No End In Sight” as well as they are heard on the new album. The crowd and band fed off of each other’s energy from the crowd chanting the lyrics to the band to the band going 100% into their performance. If you were on the fence to buy tickets for the “Disarm The Descent Tour“, trust me, it is well worth the ticket price and more. If this tour is heading to your town, do yourself a favor and check it out. Current tour dates for Killswitch Engage can be seen at this location. The “Disarm The Descent Tour” will continue today (6/18) in Sauget, IL and will culminate on July 7th in Pontiac, MI.
